for Induction Hardening shaft heat-treating. Our heat treating processes
include a 100KVA
Tucker heating
unit with a 36” Micro Processor controlled scanner. This is a low
frequency machine running at 3 hertz with a maximum power output of 100
KVA. It is capable of deep hardening patterns. This process is readily available
for processing shafts with a center in both ends. Maximum shaft length is
36”. The computer- based scanner allows for variable programming speeds
to insure thorough heating of parts with different diameters and tapered
sections. Induction hardening is an extremely cost effective method of heat-treating.
Support equipment includes salt bath and electric tempering furnaces, and

1552 MATERIAL After the hardening and tempering process, a precision
straightening is required. The straightening process is critical
for producing ready to
finish parts. We employ an Eitel stroke controlled straightening
press. This unique process is capable of straightening within a
few thousands run
out. The technology is stroke controlled rather that pressure control.
An in-process dial indicator measurers the run out error and the
press stroke is adjusted allow the ram to precisely change the distance
traveled.
