The tremendous torque loads generated by a Pro Stocker during acceleration can actually distort a fabricated steel rear end housing, bend the axle, and generate side-loads on the axle bearings. Not only does this hamper performance, but it can contribute to axle "walk out" and potential breakage. MW EV4.1 Hi-Torque axles are forged 300M alloy and custom made for each application. They have thicker flanges that are pocket lightened with a shape that leaves more material around the wheel stud while still offereing weight savings. The use of aircraft quality 300M forgings make it possible to enlarge the diameter of the gun drill bore through the entire length of the shaft to 1" diameter without sacrificing strength.  MW precision hones the bore to remove any possible stress risers. All MW axles are designed to accept the largest axle bearing diameter possible for your particular housing end, then each axle shaft is tapered from the bearing journal to the spline. The combination of the large bearing diameter and tapered shaft increases torsional and bending capacity. These axles also feature tapped stud holes (1/2" or 5/8") in the pattern of your choice.
